Same level? Oh, good. Then I'll worry about as much as I did (or rather didn't) Spectre.

I'm going to reiterate my position that this kind of highly funded brain-trust-level research into breaking security is the hacker's best friend, particularly when results end up getting published in detail. It facilitates the development of malware much more than it helps prevent attacks.

It is even possible to know with some certainty what's on a screen by listening to the whine of electronics responsible for rasterizing it. Such level of observation is nigh impossible to prevent altogether.

". . . we expect that software can be protected against such issues by employing side channel safe software development practices. This includes avoiding control flows that are dependent on the data of interest."

Oh, is that all? No problem! We'll just design software that randomly wastes most of the user's time to mask when data of interest are actually processed.
