ZDNet - It looks like Ubuntu Edge will reach the $32 million goal that Mark Shuttleworth set to begin building the hybrid smartphone PC. But will it have a market? Could it replace the traditional PC?
OMG Ubuntu - After all 5000 of their ‘one day only’ offer of an Ubuntu Edge at $600 sold out the next run up for backers wanting to nab a handset was $830.
Over 4 million in 2 days,... I think they just might make it.
I wish i had $625 to secure 1.
ExtremeTech - We’ve already seen Ubuntu’s hybrid mobile operating system, but the big question was whether or not Canonical would be able to garner support from actual hardware manufacturers and prominent carriers. Today, through an Indiegogo campaign aimed at raising $32 million, Canonical unveiled its dream piece of hardware: Ubuntu Edge.
This turned out to be a wrong time to be broke.I so badly wanted to fund this and reserve me an Edge.
I'll happily wait until it comes out with full support.
It looks like an outstanding device.
