Guy Uses Raspberry Pi to Build Amazing Speedometer

Planet Ivy: Here’s a way of killing two birds with one stone. A guy called Matt Richardson has designed a bike light which doubles up as a speedometer. It involves a Raspberry Pi mini-computer hooked up to a mini-projector and stuck on the bike with magnets, thus displaying the cyclist’s speed in the beam of light itself. Apparently there’s also the possibility of this technology being used for things like GPS, which is probably if anything more likely to catch on. Along with the advent of Google Glass, is this another sign that life is becoming more like a video game? Absolutely.
