I noticed immediately that the PS-Store opens faster and the whole ui is more responsive in general. The only slight negative I noticed is that the web browser displays at a lower resolution if you switch between apps and the browser or between different tabs for a second or 2.

oasdada2043d ago

It tooke 50mins to install spiderman litterally 50 mins! :/

TheKingKratos2043d ago

But is my ps4 pro stable now ??...few days ago it tried to jump out of the window.

FW 6.00 came after Spider-Man I think. Anyways not sure how long it took. I stuck the disc in the machine and started doing something else for a while. Switched the TV over to a movie or something. When I was ready to sit down to Spider-Man there he was pirched on the side of a building waiting for me.

With great power comes great download size.

Ps: I noticed the faster loading of PSN.

DarkVoyager2043d ago (Edited 2043d ago )

He’s comparing firmware 6.0 in 2018 to firmware 2.5 in 2015. Lol

Don’t get me wrong It’s come a long way and is much faster but try comparing firmware 6.0 against the previous firmware.

Kribwalker2043d ago

lol, yeah closer FW updates would have given a better test

ILostMyMind2043d ago

No. That would show a minimal improvement, but improvement nonetheless. Only the people with 600% zoom in the eyes could perceive this difference.

MasterCornholio2043d ago (Edited 2043d ago )

Cool that it actually improves things that we will notice.

Profchaos2043d ago

It's actually quite surprising how far it's come and how much the install speed improved

Eidolon2043d ago (Edited 2043d ago )

Just wished they changed the title, it made it seem like there was some great hidden improvements in comparison to the last firmware. Even the description is not clear. Was disappointing to see they're comparing it to a 3 year old firmware.

Stanjara2043d ago

Ok, someone explain something to me. He wasn't connected to the internet. He installed games from disks. How are installs so fast? Did he speed up a video? Also… this is hard to follow comparison. Slow motion all over the place. Also 2.5 is really old firmware.

Nyxus2043d ago

You don't need to be connected to the internet to install a game from the disc. The installs are fast because apparently the latest firmware update improved the speed.

Stanjara2043d ago

You can't tell me that putting a disk in a console and 45gb just jumps on a hdd.

rainslacker2043d ago

You don't need to install the whole game to start playing.

thexmanone2043d ago

I know right. This article should of never been approved.

Kribwalker2043d ago

he’s comparing it to a firmware that came out 3.5 years ago lol. Surely the speed would increase by now lol

Profchaos2043d ago

The blue ray contains all the files required and it only installs what it needs to fit you to start playing.

Try playing gta v for example after the quick install it still features a further 15 minute install but that's a rare exemption.

Bf4 on my launch ps4 installed and was payable immediately zero wait for that

zivtheawesome2043d ago

i'm not sure how reliable of a comparison that is, like he compared 6.0 to 2.5, shouldn't he have done the comparison with 5.5 to see the actual improvement in all these categories? otherwise, we do not know which version improved these stuff.

Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster Review – An Epic Tale Of Pixelated Portrayals

Gary Green said: We’re finding ourselves in a similar position with the Pixel Remaster edition of Final Fantasy IV as we were with Final Fantasy III since, once again, we’ve received a slightly upscaled, more vibrant port of the original game when there’s already an expanded 3D remake available. As such, we’re playing a game which, even after its long-awaited release, still lives very much in the shadow of its remake.

If only they didn't screw ps4 owners over with a physical release. I'd have ran through this in a heartbeat.

The first one I played, it was the one that made me fall in love with JRPGs and is still my favorite to this day. A masterpiece
