Matching an Xbox One X can legitimately be done with a $550 - $600 PC. A G4560 CPU handily beats the jaguar in the console and a GTX 1060 6GB allows 4K60 Ultra gameplay in Forza Motorsport 7.

Mine didn't cost $2000. It was $1650 with a GTX 1080. There was another build at $1200 with a GTX 1060 which also beats the Xbox One X. Anyone spending over $2000 must be super enthusiast. So you must be refering to a budget <$1000 PC

Best out of process of elimination, by default? Because when it's unplayable on all platforms and having an absolute ridiculous host of bugs and glitches, I don't know what there is to really brag about having the least amount of bugs in the PC version when it's also riddled with bugs still.

Because Microsoft has a marketing deal with Ubisoft for Assassin’s Creed Origins. We'll only see the PS4 version on release. Sony does the same thing with their 3d party marketing deals.

@TejasTV. It has nothing to do with MS gimping any version. This is often the unfortunate problem with PC's and it is one of the reasons I like console gaming over pc (despite owning both). It happens more than it should. Look at the previous Batman, that took months to work on PC, yet ran well on consoles. Consoles are a closed system with a single development kit, which makes optimising easier. PC's are so open that it is far more difficult to take advantage of the hardware inside.

As for the final version. It could be patched and improved by both Ubisoft and through GPU driver updates. But it is certainly not MS going around gimping pc versions, that's a bit ridiculous because they want windows 10 to be a stable part of their gaming future.

TBH, Sony has done it with the previous Assassin's Creed games. Microsoft just won the deal this time. I've seen interviews with Ubisoft devs saying how they were really impressed by the XOX hardware. Whether or not that is paid scripts, I don't know. But on the surface, they seem impressed.

Firstly i didn't attack anything and i was not trying to.
Secondly batman was withdrawn
from pc's due to not working at launch, there was nothing incorrect in what i said. You seem to be overly defensive for no reason. I stated the game might be patched, it is early days. The other point was to correct the ridiculous notion that ms are getting ubisoft to gimp their game on a system that ms are trying to make a big part of their future.

? Okay I think people are saying that because they mean PC is generally the best version technically, that is clearly taking in consideration bad PC developers look at Arkham Knight in Assassin's Creed Unity.

They're simply saying if the developer is competent and optimizes technically speaking by default the PC version should be the best version, if it's not it's simply because the developer has clearly done something horribly wrong.

I am saying that by default the PC version technically should be the best if the developers clearly optimize it but the same can be said about if they optimize all platforms, if everything is equal in regards to development optimization in terms of them being competent , by default the PC version should be the best, no where am I saying there's a such thing as a "default PC", as in there is a specific type of PC that is a standard or something 😂😂😂

Technically speaking we could have a "default" PC each year. Just take the average gaming setup from Steam's hardware stats and we could have a pretty accurate representation of a "default PC" set up.

That rig can be compared, in theory, with consoles released that year. So the xbox1x can be directly compared with Steam's 2017 average user PC build.

Anyone care to provide said specs?

PS: throw 2016's specs to compare with the ps4 pro while you are at it!

If a game is multiplatform, developers optimize for consoles, because multiplatform games make more money on consoles. PC usually get love/optimization directly after the console release, usually a few weeks later when it releases on PC.

What is being stated is that that clearly shouldn't be the case and they would be getting better sales if they're making quality versions look at Arkham Knight, I don't believe the community would have so much mistrust from some of these Publishers on PC and get so many low sales on PC if they would actually make respectable versions in the first.

I fully understand why they do that to cut Corners because multiplatform games generally sell better on consoles, that's actually not what's being debated and kind of irrelevant to the point being made.

At the end of the day there is no reason or excuse why the PC version of some of these games is literally almost unplayable.

All this talk about the "beast" is getting rather comical. Yes, it's a powerful system: woop-de-doo. The Xbox One S still isn't going anywhere. Diehard gamers might like the X, but the average Joe (which makes up the majority of sales) will still be playing on the S.

If you ask me, Most of the Pc master race is like this... it's actually just dudes cheering on their fellow gamer's rigs... the rare few who actually have the killer pc's like the 4k/60/Ultra are being raised to god like status by the 1080p/60fps/Ultra Pc Gaming crowd, and the gods are used to fight their inferiority battles for them.

4K/60/Ultra rigs are rare, you're right on that. Then again not every console gamer will own an Xbox one X and I imagine the same thing will happen there. With half the user base cheering it on and the other half downplaying it's lead. I mean it's happening now before it has even launched.

The important part of PC is no matter where you stand currently your games have the potential to be much better graphically as time goes on. I currently have 2 980s in my rig and could play the Witcher 3 at some pretty high settings at 1440p. My graphics cards are 3 years old now and maybe I will upgrade in 2 years or so and most likely if I go for even a single card in the same tier if I ever revisit the Witcher 3 I will probably be able to play it at 4K without having to buy it again or wait for a pro patch or something of the like.

My point is that those rare super rigs are the mid range rigs of tomorrow.

XboneX and PS4 Pro are both 4k/30fps with checkerboard rendering.

If the PC version doesn't run as well as the console versions then it's not been optimised at all.

Sounds like another AC Unity for PC. Not good at all. This will remove all the good will Ubisoft has tried to build up with PC gamers from their last couple of games.

Pretty sure my PC with a GTX 1080 Ti can run this better than the Xbox One X by a lot. Xbox One X is gonna be checkboard 4K/30fps with medium settings (probably), while I will run this at 4k/60fps with max settings.

This is most likely due to the fact that the devs are spending a lot of time with X considering they have a marketing deal with Microsoft and development is furthure along. This coupled with the fact that X is a closed console where they can optimize better for its specific enviroment instead 1000s of configurations on PC. This doesnt surprise me at all. Im sure high end PCs will have the edge upon release. However, its good to know X will most likley beast it out the gate...hopefully.

Without acrual specs of the pc this article is misleading and untrustworthy at the least. This is why I hate so called games journalism right now,too much speculation and personal views passes off as fact. For this article to be trusted they should just tell you the spec or don't bother with the story. I may as well write a story saying a game runs better on switch than pc but neglect to inform you I'm running it in windows 95 with 500gb ram and an outdated cpu etc. Just need honesty and facts

That might have been the case when the article writer tested. But we all know that the PC version will be superior in all ways possible. And I doubt Ubisoft after all the heat they have gotten in the past with bad PC versions. And their latest track record with good PC versions will release something that is not what PC gamers expect and demand in 2017.

I don't doubt this at all, nearly all big games, like AC, Devs make and polish up for consoles. Plus the console gamers has a lot of fan base. Devs always go where the money is and the easiest grab.. So they take there time trying to set the game up for that system. That being the case, leads to the game running better on console. Now on the PC side of it, I don't know why in the h*** the game won't run better on PC. I mean sure the X1X has a lot of great performance features, but hey just face it, you can do a h*** of a lot more with PC.

I remember way back when, when Nintendo games (for example) were on just about every platform under the sun. Very few went on and on over platform. If you wanted to play it on a computer you did and no one vilified you for it.If you wanted to play it on a console you did an no one vilified you for it. If you had to have the "best" version of the game you bought the computer with more ram or the newest console. If all you had was the Atari 2600 that is what you played it on. There was very little "superiority" being thrown around. People were just happy to play moving pictures on their 200 lb B&W 13" basement TV's, by gum!
