I am talking about how Nintendo Focuses on it. I want the Nintendo switch to succeed but i fear it will remain a home console in Nintendos eyes and NEVER get a fully fledged Pokemon rpg. I have been wanting a fully fledged Pokemon game on console since the n64 era..... I fear they don't consider the switch there portable range and we won't get it.

Well at least specifically say you fear that Nintendo is going to fracture their Market again.

Mind you I'm worried about the same thing but I don't believe another iteration of the 3DS is anything to really fear.

I believe you should start worrying if they release another portable that has its own Market. ie 4DS.

I mean you're saying you were right that Nintendo focus is to treat the switch as the Home console and treat the 3DS as the portable but nowhere is Nintendo saying they're never going to release another portable ie- this is going to be the layout forever type of deal that was never stated. in fact they've confirmed that they're working on another portable.

So I don't think the 3DS is just going to have another 5 years of Nintendo releasing games for it .

I don't think 2DS XL means that at all.

For all you know they're just slowly phasing out the 3DS to bring all their developers on the switch.

Or they very well may have another portable in development that could fragment their Market once again which I agree with you is not something a lot of us want

The switches already a Portable and I simply think they should just put all their teams on that one device and move on, if they keep trying to be greedy and fragmented their Market to try to force consumers to buy two pieces of hardware for software that very well could simply be made on one device I believe they're poised to lose even more market share than they've already have.

I don't disagree with you either on the notion that Nintendo is purposely trying to Market them as different things so they could try to force their install base to continuously by two pieces of Hardware unnecessarily either.

Simply that I don't think 2 DS XL means you're not getting a Pokemon on the switch , that just seems very far-fetched. (No pun intended)

Mind you I don't disagree with you that it is definitely a huge possibility that Nintendo might be purposely trying to market the switches that so they could try to double dip and keep selling two pieces of Hardware to their install base in my personal opinion that is going to be the worst case scenario I just think they have a great thing going with the switch and they 100% can sell this as both Concepts.

I think the Nintendo switch actually proves that Nintendo's install base may not really care that much about power they simply want quality games and I don't really see a reason to try to fracture install bases to get people to buy two pieces of Hardware unnecessarily.

I know one of the fire emblems on 3DS is being ported to the switch and personally I would like it if they just did that with their next, hand-held if they are indeed making one simply let all the games that are being released on that platform come out on the switch.

I just don't disagree with you and the regard that the installed base is just getting tired of this double-dipping and hardware and all of us simply want the switch to just be there only device they focus on so we could get Pokemon Animal Crossing what have you all on one device.

Edmix: Nintendo said the switch was a home console "first and foremost."

They really shouldn't have made it portable if they were going to pump out more handheld systems. They could have put a lot more power into the switch if they just kept it as a proper home console.

Personally never use 3D and a majority of the games I have don't even feature it. My only gripe with this like the previous 2DS is it still looks like its for kids. A nice all black model would be a very nice option.

So why is it worrisome that Nintendo has a new handheld and Switch? Or are you worried that Nintendo may drop support on one of their devices the same way Sony dropped the Vita?

@gang- because with the wii u vs the 3DS it very much showed that they sided and played favorites with a system.

The switch is already a portable so I see no reason to introduce another device to cannibalize sales so they could start playing favorites again.

Focus on the strength of this being a hybrid in move on, it literally starts to even defeat the purpose of a hybrid if they're simply just going to be supporting another concept somewhere else.

That makes no sense even for you. Exactly what did Nintendo do to play favorites? Nintendo provided support for both Wii U and 3DS all the way up to the end of the WIi U as much as they could.

How are they fragmenting their market? I keep reading your comments about how the PSP could play games on a TV also, did Sony fragment their market because of it?

Again, I have to ask because you have brought it up a number of times in relation to remasters. Don't you think Nintendo has more than one team which focuses on both the Switch and Nintendo's handhelds?

So give up on the huge DS market? Or stop supporting the huge market for consoles? Nintendo is only allowed to do one or the other? Are you sure you know how business works? Especially with the Switch selling out and the 3DS still being the number one dedicated handheld for games.
