You mean launching for Xbox One right? In any case, I would certainly be interested, I actually liked Ryse.

Sciurus_vulgaris2588d ago

It seems the fact that the Scorpio isn't a replacement for the Xbox One, hasn't sunk in.

JasonKCK2588d ago

It's done purpose so some can cry "no fair it's next gen" when convenient, or when comparisons roll out.

annoyedgamer2588d ago

I said that on day 1, as long as its backwards compatible I doubt the gamers will mind.

darthv722588d ago

Sweet. I really dig Ryse.

DigitalRaptor2588d ago (Edited 2588d ago )

@ JasonKCK

That's some nice insecure fan-fiction you've written for yourself there but that was never going to happen.

When you're making games to account for a base console with 1.23TF of computing potential, it's going to be interesting to see how that compares with how developers approach the scalability of a base console with 1.84TF of potential. Think it will balance out just fine when checkerboard rendered 4K is already 98% indistinguishable from native resolution. It's going to be a very interesting discussion.

FITgamer2588d ago

So because they are releasing a 4 year old title on GWG, that means a sequel this year? What kind of logic is that?

Captain_Tom2588d ago

Haha ik right?

XBOX failed, they released the 360 4 years later. Xbone fails, same - XBOX Two this fall everybody!

Kingthrash3602587d ago (Edited 2587d ago )

I see absolutely nothing saying it's indeed coming. Just speculation because ryse coming to gwg? Man journalists don't work at all anymore.

2587d ago
IamTylerDurden12587d ago

Ryse is a game that helped cripple Crytek, so i have some disdain for it tbh. Having said that, and even though it only sold 1.39m physical units (vg) i think it would be a travesty to waste that tech and it could at the very least be a visual showcase for the xb1/Scorpio.

indysurfn2587d ago

The highest score this game got on www.gamerankings.com was a 64% so they will need to fix and CHANGE the game play for number two. It can't just be a pretty game.

xPaYDaYx2587d ago

I legit don't follow Xbone news. So is the Scorpio a new generation of console? If that's the case, will it be fully backwards compatible?

ABizzel12588d ago

Agreed, while a bit short Ryse was quite enjoyable, and could definitely benefit from a sequel with fleshed out combat and mechanics, story, and online. Could be a better For Honor to be honest.

2588d ago
guyman2587d ago

Ryse had a uninspired story and the combat was bland and a QTE fest done wrong.

Summons752588d ago

Not once has it been called 'Xbox One Scorpio' only 'Project Scorpio'. This could be interesting if they actually make some gameplay, don't focus on "gwafixxxx", and make an actual good game but the major advantage with a sequel and learning from their horrible mistakes is that they don't have their hands tied with a Kinect port. Always optimistic for sequels to turn the series around.

Bigpappy2588d ago (Edited 2588d ago )

Ryse was not just Graphics. The story was good and the gameplay fun and exciting. Actually made you want to keep playing on. Only flaw it had was lack of variety. Easily the best action game on Xbox.

Summons752588d ago

@Bigpappy

Story was good? That's a laugh and the gameplay was QTEs....year SOOOOOO AMAZING. Game was trash and I hope they learn from their failure.

ninsigma2588d ago

I agree with bigpappy which is a rare thing. Fantastic graphics of course but the story did have some substance to it and the main character was believable enough. While the narrative wasn't the strongest around it was serviceable and like I said had a bit of substance and the gameplay was ok but yeah was mostly QTE based but it was over all a fun experience. With some changes to gameplay and an expansion on the story, it could become Xboxs God of War. A lot of potential from the first game imo.

TheKingKratos2588d ago (Edited 2588d ago )

Yeah for all it problems
i liked Ryse as well it was 7/10 game to me
the combat was like 300 movie and i always wanted a 300 game.

Well, if they make Ryse 2 my pc will be ready.

Captain_Tom2588d ago

No. It will be called XBOX Two.

gamer78042587d ago

Agreed. Ryse was very good. Not.perfect of course but the franchise holds lots of potential

Trekster_Gamer2587d ago

I loved Ryse. A sequel on Scorpio would be awesome. I won't believe it until MS announces it.

StrawberryDiesel4202587d ago

I too enjoyed Ryse. I thought it was a great launch title that like The Order: 1886, was held to some kind of alternate review scale. I saw 5/10 scores for both games which was so wrong. Just poor reviews by deranged "game journalists" with some twisted fanboy agenda. Anyway, I digress. If Scorpio launches with game like Gears of War 4, Quantum Break and a new Ryse running 1080/60fps I may just dive in day one. However, if the console is more than $500 at launch I think I will end up waiting.

joab7772587d ago

It would make sense to launch another tech demo.

Vasto2589d ago

Enjoyed Ryse so I am all for a sequel.

RhymeNorReason2588d ago

Look at your downvotes compared to your upvotes (which I upvotes to average them out). If this article was about The Order 1886 and you said you enjoyed it (which many compared the scores and of both games, and neither truly achieved greatness) you'd have dozens of Up votes and a couple down votes. Because no matter how bad a PS game is, they'll defend its uselessness to the end. But it's not "okay" to enjoy games on Xbox that actually played better.

Razzer2588d ago (Edited 2588d ago )

He has more upvotes(including mine) than down. But when someone does praise The Order 1886, you call them "delusional".

"@gtr35olution You're delusional. The Order was so bland. Lets make fun of Xbox games all day long but defend a bland PS4 game."

http://n4g.com/news/2017584...

Hypocrisy.

RhymeNorReason2588d ago

@razzer, The Order WAS bland. No idea why you're researching what I'm saying... freak. But I stand by it. The game was bland. I JUST commented on how "neither truly achieved greatness." Keep reaching. And looking into my comment history? Please. It's kind of gross actually.

nX2588d ago

You're short sighted and simple minded if you played through The Order 1886 thinking it's "bland". It had it's issues, but story and presentation were clearly it's strengths.

Razzer2588d ago

Just trying to help you realize what a hypocrite you are for attacking someone for liking The Order while getting butthurt that someone got some downvotes for liking Ryse.

And that is why the comment history is there.

RhymeNorReason2588d ago

@razzer No. it's not hypocrisy. It's about the upvotes/downvotes. Xbox people on here get torn apart for liking a game that wasn't good and PS fans don't. That's the point. So, again, keep digging.

@nx Nope. The games presentation was atrocious. A slow paced, half witted approach to a game hugely hyped completely landed on its face. The mechanics were so outdated and the stealth was useless. The story was just terrible.

Razzer2588d ago

Digging? That comment was on page one of your history. Didn't take much to expose your hypocrisy. Now it is becoming comical that you called someone else delusional. lol...I'm done here.

RhymeNorReason2588d ago

@razzer You obviously have no clue what I'm talking about. You are literally believing your own spin.

pitythefool2588d ago Show
KwietStorm_BLM2588d ago

Both Ryse and The Order were lackluster at best, They had promise, but that's it.

DarXyde2587d ago

You do realize up voting and down voting mirrors the old system of agreeing and disagreeing, yes? It's entirely possible that people treat it accordingly. If you say "I enjoyed Ryse", the down votes are probably majorly disagreeing, saying, "I didn't like Ryse". I never finished it and I don't like it. I wouldn't go out of my way to down vote you, but I didn't finish The Order either.

People, for their own reasons, will do that. Sometimes for games they haven't played. I encourage you to learn to tune it out. I get it frequently enough, but I'm not going to curb my opinions for their sake.

Shake it off.

Prince_TFK2587d ago

Lol you just sum up N4G. A place where sony is king and MS is trash. Only here, folks.

Ceaser98573612587d ago

The Order 1886 was great, it had its issue but the game was not Bland. The voice acting, setting was brilliant. I am hoping for a sequel.. Even the Ryse was great.. Both were torn apart by many and they deserved better scores imo.

xPaYDaYx2587d ago

I would love to see a sequel to The Order 1886.

rainslacker2587d ago

What if I liked both Ryse, and the Order?

Both games had good game play, both had great graphics, and both had decent stories which could use a lot of fleshing out but were serviceable for a first attempt at a new IP.

Could it be possible that people liked The Order, and given that there are more PS owners, maybe that's why there are plenty of upvotes.

That being said, you say you like the Order, and there's plenty of grief to be had. Been there, done that, and think you don't actually know what you're talking about.

Misleading clickbaity title. Scorpio is an iterative console. Everything on it will be playable on Xbox One.

nevarDcirE2588d ago (Edited 2588d ago )

If it launches at the same time as Scorpio, then its launching on Scorpio, regardless of any other platforms it may be available for.

It's only misleading if you have an agenda.

nX2588d ago

What agenda, you mean calling out clickbait journalism that deceives people and causes unnecessary discussions? If anything that's called common sense, which many Xbox fanboys seem to be afraid of.

2pacalypsenow2587d ago

No one says coming to PS4 Pro, its the same thing....

S2Killinit2588d ago (Edited 2588d ago )

You mean other than VR games.

Rimeskeem2588d ago

Ryse was one of the only games I beat on Xbox one. I'd be down for sequel.

AngelicIceDiamond2588d ago

MS just needs to buy the studio. God knows MS needs them.

Sciurus_vulgaris2588d ago

Crytek ? MS would be better off building multiple, studios than purchasing Crytek. Crytek is a mismanaged, relatively inefficient company, with a so-so track record.

annoyedgamer2588d ago (Edited 2588d ago )

Rather them not, as much as Crytek needs cash right now, they are a German developer and American game companies including Microsoft have proven politics is more important than games. I foresee them gutting the entire team and replacing them with clowns like the ones infesting 343 industries.

Nitrowolf22588d ago (Edited 2588d ago )

Crytek is in a mess, sure Microsoft can buy them For just the name i suppose but even then that isnt as big as it use to be.

IMO it would be a bad purchase, they are better off just buying the IP, Crytek is most likely to go under, taking into account they just closed some of their own studio and multiple reports from exemployyes about pay and such

Sciurus_vulgaris2588d ago

Ryse wouldn't cost very much for MS to purchase, the IP isn't that big. MS should purchase some the IPs they funded and help create, notablely Sunset Overdrive, Splosion Man and a few others. I'm surprised Crytek hasn't sunk yet. The company has been struggling since 2013, when they lost funding from MS & EA.

andrewsquall2587d ago

HAHAHA Crytek? Buy Crytek? You want Microsoft to BUY Crytek? The team that made the incredible first Far Cry over 13 years ago and that's it??? NOBODY needs Crytek. Did you see the mess that Homefront game was last year? And this is a Crytek engine game that actually had help from the people that make the engine.
How awful is that Kingdom Come Deliverance game going to be, something I've been calling out as a future disaster since its debut in 2014 when its being made by an even smaller studio?

Now a great example of a studio Microsoft could have purchased back in the day would be Angel Studios that made Midtown Madness. They are a little studio that went on to make the Midnight Club series and and also somelittle series called Red Dead. :)

Ryse: Son of Rome Deserves a Second Shot

Ryse: Son of Rome was an Xbox One launch title that has been left to collect dust, but Crytek should set aside Crysis and give Ryse another shot.

It was a great game, it had issues but it can only go up from here.

crazyCoconuts625d ago

It was just ok. Looked really good for an Xbox game though

Snookies12625d ago

"for an Xbox game"

Way to subtly throw shade there. It looked amazing compared to any game at the time it was released.

Never played it myself though, wasn't really interested in it personally. Plus it came at a time when I didn't own an Xbox console. But it was at least different than the usual copy/paste games we get. So I hope it gets another chance sometime soon.

Crows90625d ago

It was a crytek game though

1nsomniac625d ago (Edited 625d ago )

It was a stunning game on all basis. One of the standout games for Xbox as a whole. I ended up buying on pc as well… and yes nothing looked better than it in PC at the time either. Nothing just ok about it, definitely needs a sequel.

fr0sty625d ago

@snookies12, don't pretend like the Xbox One didn't struggle with being gimpled by its tiny pool of ESRAM as a frame buffer. It was significantly weaker than the PS4.

crazyCoconuts624d ago

Metacritic 60, user score 6.4. I'm not alone in putting it into the "ok" category...

VenomCarnage89624d ago

@snookies
Haven't played it but at least you know enough to defend Xbox over it. The game did look good, for an Xbox game. That's not some "subtle shade," it's full on reality.
I remember it being nearly the only graphically decent game on the Xbone for like the first two years after launch, and graphics were that games strength

CrimsonWing69625d ago

I really enjoyed it. Bought it at launch even.

ManMarmalade624d ago (Edited 624d ago )

The qte's were disappointing though. God of war was doing it back in the ps2 days. As gorgeous as the game was, the gameplay needed to be updated.

annoyedgamer625d ago

I really liked the original Ryse but Crytek doesn't have the funds. The mismanaged their properties and let EA raid them with Crysis for the duration of their relationship. Right now they are working on Crysis 4, I doubt they can spare resources to work on a Ryse sequel.

gamer7804625d ago

It would have to be funded by MS, I really liked Ryse sure it got repetitive but the setting visuals and story were good

moriarty1889625d ago

MS should have funded a sequel to Ryse and Sunset OD. Two good franchises they definitely needed last gen.

annoyedgamer624d ago

MS is too busy trying to become the next EA, Ryse wont be on their list of titles to finance unless it gets a hipster makeover with lootboxes.

darthv72625d ago (Edited 625d ago )

I recently bought it for the steamdeck and have to say... 60fps is a game changer. I really wished MS had gotten a one x patch or series boost mode option but sadly, nope. Other games that definitely deserve a second chance (esp on steamdeck/pc) are quantum break and sunset overdrive. Both deserved 60fps support on one x / series but you have to go to PC for that.

Rumor has it Crytek had plans for a Ryse 2 but due to the low turnout for XB (at the time) it was shelved. They really should give this another shot. i dont care if its multiplat on PS and XB and PC and Switch... just so long as part 2 gets made.

babadivad625d ago

The game is automatically boosted on Series X

darthv72625d ago

sorry... but it's not. It still runs at the same fps the XBO did.

lelo2play625d ago

Game was good enough, not great.
Graphically it was top notch. Still holds well till this day.

Crows90625d ago

It only needed more enemy variety and few more movesets or weapons to use. That would have made the experience tons better.

MadLad625d ago

It was a good game.
Only time I saw quick time events actually make me feel engaged.

This is not what I would call value for money spent. They give you quests in liveservice games to get you "re-engaged" with the monetization schemes or to get you hooked or so you at least spend some extra on skins and loot boxes. Then they dole out paltry points after you have already paid extra for whichever liveservice within a liveservice that you are already paying for. My worry is people can't actually be that stupid to fall for this, can they?

littletad630d ago

Absolutely nothing in this comment makes sense. At all.

anast630d ago (Edited 630d ago )

How does it not make sense? O thy god of reason, shine some evidence upon us. Ryse of Rome, ESO,and AC: Origins are all live service games, between them you can get 275 points. Liveservice games are made to keep people spending. Therefore, Gamepass is a live service and the points are for playing live service games.

It is not my problem that this does not make sense to you, it is absolutely your problem. I mean it is all your problem.

Julion0715630d ago (Edited 630d ago )

Hate Xbox but comments in every Xbox article 😂 without making sense smh

anast630d ago

Bring the evidence and then your emoji might make sense.
