Published under gamestop's gameTrust? Is this the first of their games ?

Well..hopefully RAD learned something from Order 1886 gameplay reception. Pretty as it was, the gameplay was decades behind.

Alexious2891d ago

It's the second to be announced, the first one is Insomniac's Song of the Deep, due in July.

This game was never meant for your COD or your Maden players, it's a lenier story based qte, just like Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls. Ready at Dawn did say this when they first announced the game, but that didn't stop people from comparing it to Gears of War and crap.

Press x to dodge the werewolf. Man everyone remembers how awful that battle was in that boiler room. All the stupid thing would do was lunge. Watch out for the overpowered shotgunner to compensate for the poor AI. The game had some serious issues.

Fin_The_Human2890d ago

I wonder how they will price this as a use game.

Hope it's good they sure as hell can do graphics, hope they iron out the gameplay this time

Kreisen2891d ago

Mark my words, its some small indy platformer.

Adexus2891d ago

I loved The Order so I'm looking forward to whatever they do next... hopefully it'll be alongside a The Order sequel, probably just me though haha.

Alexious2891d ago

A sequel for The Order isn't coming any time soon due to the poor reception. And even if it did, it would probably be by another studio

Inzo2891d ago

Poor reception? The Order has sold close to 2 million copies since release. Poor reception by critics yes and by those who have never played it.

dp2774072891d ago (Edited 2891d ago )

The game was pretty good but it had its problems, loved the story.

_-EDMIX-_2891d ago

Don't now that. The game moved a little over 2 million. We don't know what is "poor reception" from Sony.

We don't know how much it cost, thus don't know if they made a return or not. Mind you, that doesn't really even mean a sequel won't game, many publishers have released sequels of titles that didn't make them money from the original, but sequel or trilogy did.

I agree though that it could be by another studio. It wouldn't be the first time Sony's done that, in fact they've sorta been known to hand IPs off to other teams many times.

rainslacker2891d ago

It sold reasonably well though. The reception among people that played it was that it was good, but felt unfinished, or was too short. Not many had problems with it otherwise, and generally everyone liked the setting and lore enough to want to see a sequel which could do things better.

The reason R@D isn't making another one is because they wanted to make something to show off their multi-plat engine. They were never a Sony 1st party. It's possible Sony didn't jump right away for a sequel, but that was probably more down to the delays with the original game, and the fact I think Sony just said get it done despite it obviously being incomplete.

vega2752890d ago

Was it officially announced they sold 2 million or are we using vgcharts.

"the capital group of PCF Group S.A."

If you're getting funding from a group that needs two different ways of Acronyming itself, things will not go the way you want them to.

If it was more online-only crap then good riddance.

jjb198112h ago

Outriders was crap. They slapped that game together and threw in a loot system to get players' attention. This game was absolutely jank and the always online nonsense made it stutter like crazy. People Can't Optimize.

thorstein10h ago

I liked Outriders but I could see where the artistic vision was compromised. The way the industry is now, it wouldn't surprise me that upper management would scrap something that didn't pull in money via gaas, mts, or other means.

Escape from Tarkov Unheard Edition Reneges on Promised Content Behind $250 Price Tag

The new Escape from Tarkov Unheard Edition has the community in an outrage after promising exclusive access to the new PvE mode for $250 USD.

Christopher1d 1h ago

$250? Do they not know all the other games that already exist or will be made in the future that can do similar?

SimpleDad16h ago(Edited 16h ago)

This is for the hardcore people that have 2500 h in the game. They basically play that one game the whole year.
Oh and those same people are mad as hell at this... what a way to reward fans of your game and annihilate newcomers.

got_dam1h ago

Read a comment earlier calling it a "special monetization operation." I had to chuckle at that.
