Next-gen games may be going up in price across the board, and that just shines a spotlight on the value and critical role Xbox Game Pass will play for Microsoft during the Xbox Series X lifecycle.
Ubisoft's brilliant Assassin's Creed Odyssey will become available via Xbox and PC Game Pass today, Microsoft has annou…
This week on the Game Deflators Podcast the guys discuss Microsoft's recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard, what it could mean for Microsoft's future plans in the console hardware business, and their relationship with Sony and Nintendo.
Cosy city builder Before We Leave is now available on Xbox to purchase and also amazingly via Xbox Game Pass.
The quality of the GP library doesn't get better (not that's bad), but the value is certainly highlighted with higher game prices. Once MS first party picks up some steam then GP will really become a major player in the gaming economy. Assuming the price doesn't increase, of course.
Just a penny... This one single game being priced could be the one chosen to taste the pond water.
I said it before and ill say it again. Its launch day of your favorite new next-gen console and youre already about to drop $400-500 on the hardware itself, but we all know it doesnt stop there. What good is the hardware without next-gen software to go with it. So you buy maybe 3 AAA games at whats looking now like $70 A POP! You add maybe 1-2 more indie games to go along with it at $15-30 a pop and add an extra controller incase someone comes over to play along with. Youre now talking anywhere from $700-800 dollars BEFORE tax!!! Thats a lot of bread.
IMO...Microsoft is the way to go here. Even if the SX is $500...I can pair that with XGP for $10-15 or even $1 (for some) and get 100s of games to play including Halo Infinite and every other first party title Microsoft releases and get an abundance of AAA and indie games for my new SX on #DayOne! My second controller for my new SX can and will be my current X1 controllers I already have!
This simply can not be beat and saves the gamer a ton of money.
It's not confirmed that all games are going to cost $70 at all. But for the sake of the argument lets they they will be, the majority of gamers will still not get onto gamepass. Things are going to go along like they always have. I honestly believe that.
But is gamepass great value? Of course it is. For some people it's a really good fit. For others, it's not a good fit at all. I mean the vast majority of Xbox fans are not subscribed to gamepass. But you know, props to Microsoft for making GamePass. The value is undeniable. Congrats to the people that enjoy it.
