Cyberpunk 2077's map is a 'little smaller' than The Witcher 3's but far denser, says producer

Cyberpunk 2077's world looks vast—but it won't be quite as vast as The Witcher 3's in terms of pure square footage. The RPG's map is a "little bit smaller" than CD Projekt's fantasy epic, but it will be far denser, according to producer Richard Borzymowski

I’d rather have a dense open world than empty space.

I agree - this sounds perfectly adequate, and I prefer it honestly. We have a city that's only a "little bit smaller" than Witcher 3's. That sounds like one huge, dense city.

Yeah but they did say the game will feature some level of verticality so that effectively means the total explorable area will be effectively the same as the Witcher's or bigger.

Quality over Quantity any day of the week for me.

Even San Andreas had a huge map which was too big, though great for multiplayer with nearly 200 players through the MP mod, but the one thing it did get right was having 100+ missions.

As for Cyberpunk it looks like its been downgraded gfx wise, but we'll see.

It's going to have more interior exploration too which is awesome .

Exactly, I personally think maps for open world games have reached a good size but its about being able to go into all buildings etc with greater detail now imo.

I was reading it's all just false reports from a troll who's done things like this in the past and not Nintendo themselves.

Well the games creator Gary Newman confirmed it himself on Twitter.
