PCA: Microsoft has announced that it will launch three editions of Windows 8: Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro and Windows RT. This is in contrast to the last few Windows releases, which offered six separate Editions to cater to different user types.
And, for once, some of what it can do looks genuinely useful.
The blog post reads, “We’re introducing a new WhatsApp app for Windows that loads faster and is built with an interface similar to the app's mobile version.”
Since the middle of February, customers of AMD graphics cards have been reporting situations in which Windows installations were entirely bricked after installing new drivers.
I'm glad that they got rid of the stupid upgrade paths, for the most part. And 3 SKUs is the way to go, 6 was too much.
Not shocking as there's usually a Windows Basic, Windows Home Premium, Windows Professional, and Ultimate.
And none of them are gonna be installed on my windows computer.
