I personally don't give DAMN about faster SSD. They're only more expensive! I want higher capacity for cheap. Seriously, a 1TB of old M25-x series SSD should be at a reasonable price!
I know what you mean... I need something more than this crappy 100GB SSD I have, and with the way prices are, I don't think I'm going to see a reasonable upgrade any time soon.
Chris, while I understand how you feel. SSD is still for performance hungry power users like myself. We like our information to be read and written as fast as possible. We want our games to take advantage of this as much as possible.
SSD are making headway and will be the mainstream norm in time. I only own a 250 gig for OS/Games. Everything else is 10,000 rpm, 600 gig, 6.0/s VelociRaptor.
I also have personal cloud and external HD's. The take down of megaupload or torrent sites will not affect me since I have been archiving for some time and I am careful not to distribute. :)
I have two SSDs. An Intel 80Gb for my OS and an Intel 160Gb for my games. I love the boot-up time and game loading times.
I also only have a SATA2 capable motherboard so anything above 3Gb/s transfer isn't necessary for me. Aside from that, I seriously believe that one or two hundred megabytes for read/write per second is minute in comparison.
