Should exam halls ditch pen and paper for laptops or tablets?

Which? Convo: Apparently, some of today’s students are complaining that they’re so unused to writing by hand that they can’t keep it up for a three hour exam. So, are laptop- or tablet-friendly exam halls the answer?

This pretty much sums up the issue. So the solution to lazy writing is less writing? I don't think so. Even though it is true, in our day and age the use of handwriting is declining more and more, I still consider it an essential skill, no matter where you work, at some point everyone needs to write something down, from plumber to a CEO. I too noticed a steep decline in my handwriting capabilities, both in endurance and quality, ever since the PC replaced pen and paper as the tool of choice for everything writing. My handwriting from the school days was a lot better compared to now, it degraded a lot over time.
