Sony releases official statement regarding PS3 hackers

Sony has stepped up it's stance on anyone circumventing protection of any kind on the PlayStation 3 and released a statement today. Most recently Sony had barred George Hotz (Geohot) from releasing any more information about the console what soever. Now, Sony has their eyes set on other users that may be trying to use pirated software or modded PlayStation consoles on their network. Announcement at PlayStation Blog, coverage at TekGoblin.

I didn't hacked my PS3, but when these type of Bans start some Innocent peoples are bound to get hurt.

I am on OFW and received a warning E-Mail yesterday. I did play with a dongle before but have since upgraded back to OFW. Will be a bit miffed if I get banned on OFW. But not a big deal really.

Some tough times coming for the owners of the modded PS3 console or for those using pirated software. Hackers will find the way to bypass it lol
