Microsoft: 'Without Halo, I don't know where the Xbox brand would be today'

David Mclean, Microsoft's regional head of entertainment and devices, today paid tribute to the importance of the Halo series in establishing the Xbox brand.

The Xbox manager admitted that the popularity of Xbox was largely attributable to Bungie's phenomenally successful series, which to date has sold in excess of 34 million copies.

"Let's face facts: without Halo, I do not know where the Xbox business would be today", he stated at the event.

The story is too old to be commented.

Man speaks truth. Without Halo, it's unlikely the original Xbox ever would have taken off.
