Sure, Ethernet's almost always better than Wi-Fi, but is it the best you can do when gaming? Bigfoot Networks doesn't think so, and has just released a new networking card to try to prove it: the Killer 2100.
Touting the Killer 2100 as "the fastest network card ever made for online games," Bigfoot claims to have redesigned the card from the ground up to use the company's Gaming Networking DNA. The software, the company says, "uses a dedicated [network processing unit] to reduce load on a PC's CPU" by bypassing Windows's networking stack. Bigfoot claims this results in performance up to 10 times faster than on standard connections.
