Microsoft's browser share has continued to plummet and for the first time Internet Explorer dropped under 60 percent.
IE's April market share was 59.95 percent, down from 60.65 percent in the previous month. Chrome increased its share from 6.13 to 6.73 percent and Firefox also gained some share, ending up at 24.59 percent in April.
I'd be interested to know what IE's browser share would be if you only looked at home users, and didn't include the masses of corporate computers who are often stuck with IE due to either management inertia, or (sadly a lot more common than many people realise) a stack of proprietary applications that are only compatible with IE6, and are essential for the operation of the business.
