They are doing just that, in middle and bottom tiers at least. Read up on AMD's response to Nvidia's 1660ti, and the upcoming 1660 and 1650. The 2060's price is not bad either, considering its 1070-level performance, with great power efficiency. This is a great time to build a PC, and it appears to be getting even better as memory prices continue to drop.
