Microsoft might force Windows 10 users to use Edge even if it isn't the default browser

Under specific circumstances you will be forced to use Edge - whether it's your default browser or not.

SOOOO WHAT???? I mean, it's their operating system at the end of the day so they're obviously going to promote their products.

So what? People dislike and stop using. Basic economics.

Apple apps usually default to Safari. Should we abandon them because they don't give us a choice? I don't think you know how business works. At the end of the day, we are paying for a license to use Windows.

How anyone outside of corporate shills could argue for this is beyond me. Clearly, Windows users much prefer browsers other than Edge (mostly Chrome and Firefox). The PC is an open platform, and it's not up to Microsoft or anyone to dictate to users what software they can use.

the pc is indeed an open platform but using MS windows on your pc would make MS be allowed to dictate what they would prefer you use. they wont stop you or make it impossible for you to download other apps/browsers but they will default to theirs. if you dont like being told what to use, then you can install any other OS on your PC.

im not defending MS, just saying it like it is.
