You damn nut job, they are not talking about uses for petro in everyday items. They are talking about burning them for fuel. You know like gas in vehicles, coal for electric power ect. MagicBeanz is exactly right, if you promised to give the big oil people all the patents and rights to clean energy, we would start to see the change tomorrow.

I live in Quebec, our main power ressource is hydroelectricity so cut the "coal for electric" bs, we can because our geography allow it, not because "big oil people" allowed us to live with 63 hydroelectric power stations in our province.(hell, we even sells part our surplus electricity to neighbouring systems in Canada and the United States, so stop it with the victim card)
