I don't believe in ads because I don't believe in things I can't see.
Thanks adblock!

Silly goose. How are 90% of the sites on the web going to survive if there were not ads? I mean I don't support bad ads and bad implementation but it's a necessary evil.

SunnyZ2751d ago

As a whole I do not trust any websites.
I do ofc whitelist trusted sites I frequent.
But even then, you can get some dodgy crap if those websites outsource their ad space.

They started it with malicious advertisements, so I ended it with ad-blockers.

websites existed before adsense and other ads... the sites will still be there if the company not willing to continue some one would surely take their place, i know i would just to have it on resume and hobby and im not the only one.

Speed-Racer2750d ago

Sites existed before because they had huge budgets to afford it. Most modern day sites don't operate on the same basis though. I'd hate to live in a world with only a few big names on the web when many smaller sites do a better job at reporting for instance.

Speed-Racer2750d ago

Can't edit my last comment but @SunnyZ - I understand your point. I've gotten infected twice some years ago because of the whole ad malware thing and I also use adblockers. Sites that use strictly adsense for instance get a break but I don't allow those crappy infolinks or taboola ads etc. The ad industry does need a revamp as to what is acceptable, along with a whole redesign of how ads themselves are served. HTML5 is a thing, so let's use it instead of JavaScript
