HTC sales plunge 35% in 2016

Taiwan's leading smartphone brand HTC Corp. saw its consolidated sales fall 35 percent from a year earlier in 2016 to their lowest level in 12 years.

In a statement issued Friday, the company reported consolidated sales of NT$78.16 billion (US$2.44 billion) for the year, the lowest since it posted annual sales of NT$72.77 billion in 2005.
