There's other Android phone makers available. If people avoided brands altogether because of issues like this, IPhone would have no buyers as its phones exploded not long ago.

It's not to avoid lawsuits, its because carriers are offering a free switch to any phone. Samsung see's it and wants to keep you as a customer so they have to do something.

Anything with a battery can do this, it's only if an unusually high percentage of them do that it's a problem. The N7 is clearly flawed in that regard.
