AMD announces world’s fastest graphics card and the first all-in-one VR headset

MWEB GameZone writes: "During the GDC 2016 at AMD’s 'Capsaicin' event, the company announced the most powerful graphics card in the world aimed at VR creators and the Solun Q all-in-one VR headset powered by AMD.

The Radeon Pro Duo produces 16 TFLOPS computing power - more than twice of what Nvidia’s GTX Titan X can deliver."

these headsets are really taking over hey?!?

Sillicur3136d ago

yah, this one could be really interesting seeing as it is an all-in-one device.

VR headsets seem to be the new trend, mostly due to advances in technology making it a lot more affordable and believeable.

People always dreamed about VR, now it's just a lot more plausible.

The anime Sword Art Online probably help drive the awareness of vr. Life imitating art and all that jazz.

Super-Geobros3135d ago

They will take over and new tech has new hype and that is about virtualiy and virtual world is more cool than playing games and watching movies on tv.

ZombieDreddZA3136d ago

All good and well, but the price may still be a limiting factor for potential buyers.

Sillicur3136d ago

Yah, seeing as it is aimed at VR content creators more than end users, I think the price could be fine. Still, almost $200 more than two Fury X's you can run in crossfire for about the same performance.

And just like that now my superclocked Titan x is not the top card and I didn't even finish building my pc

SonZeRo3136d ago

I wouldn't mind having one of those GPU's.

Sillicur3136d ago

Same here, but for that price! I might rather wait for the Polaris GPUs and see what they have to offer

SonZeRo3136d ago

I never said I wanted to buy one, just that I wouldn't mind having one.

HanCilliers3136d ago

The Radeon Pr Duo coupled with the new VR headset - win

micx3136d ago

16 TFLOPS of computing power is just savagery. Lo and behold, this is a graphic card to drool over.
