Google’s Self-Driving Car Caused Its First Accident

In an accident report made public on Monday, Google disclosed that its self-driving car had caused a crash earlier this month — the first known crash caused by one of its fleet. One of the autonomous Lexus SUVs that Google has been testing on the streets of Mountain View, California, hit a bus when it tried to change lanes.

It was a bad idea from the very beginning. Driving should always be drived by a human. Automated cars will always be prone to accidents, malfunctions and everything.

Not really. Once the AI factors in more scenarios like these and can better understand how to 'think' I am sure they'll do a better job than humans in time. The great thing is that AI never sleeps unlike a human who can become tired and less aware.
