Microsoft Officially Kills "Project Astoria" Without An Apology

Software giant Microsoft has axed the promising Astoria project, a Windows Bridge for Android. The tool announced prior to the launch of Windows 10 would have turned Android apps into universal Windows apps that can run seamlessly on all Windows devices.

I really don't know the direction of Windows Mobile platform. Every cool decision has turned out without effect and it's a shame. I don't want Android domination.. :/

This is a good thing... they are showing a sign of focus and went with Bridge that works better. All the major apps are on both Android and iOS anyways.

Man, this sucks. What's ironic about it for my situation is Google themselves. I only want one app (maybe 2), Hangouts and Google Voice. We used to have great 3rd party apps on the Windows Store, but Google has turned into the exact thing they said they were fighting against, evil Corporations, monopoly. They want you on their ecosystem no matter what and they are flexing their muscle.

I wish Astoria would have worked.
