Developers React to HTC Vive Pricing Reveal

I don't see that competing price wise with PS VR, or competing with quantity or quality of games. I think at $800 it is DOA.

Whilst I'm sure PS VR can do well (and perhaps even better Oculus/Vive) for me at least PS VR is never going to be part of the equation. The reason being I don't want to experience VR on a $300 gaming system. I don't mean that as an insult to the PS4, it's great for the price and what it is, but a lot of games already struggle at 1920x1080 on it at 30fps. And that's with middling graphical settings when you compare to the pc versions. 30fps is fine for a TV but you're going to want that full 1080p resolution (at least) and very high solid frame-rates for VR, which will come at an even greater cost to the graphical fidelity of the games on it.

If PS VR opens itself up to a PC release that's a whole different story however.
