"no-one has shown a game that works" - Are you kidding me? Which retail chain said that?? There's already loads out for the Gear VR, Sony has been showing of games all over the place as a major part of all their shows for the last 4 months. Oculus have shown games off, there are all sorts on VR Share and the store already has many examples the big names of which have all been at trade shows for the past 6-12 months.
Maybe retail outlets need to go beyond the usual customers' and send flyers/post on their websites the various use of VR-tech to attract the engineering, military, medical community.
Someone in the retail sector needs to post a valid video example that VR isn't just for gaming.
£500 is a LOT of money for the average consumer (you could probably get a decent spec PC for around that price), one would hope that the price drops fairly soon after release. Just for comparison the PS4 was £349 when it was released.
Obviously people will buy it on release because it's new tech and the fact that it's VR, but whether it will have the staying power at that price? Really too early to tell at the moment I think.
Okay... So, there may not be a killer solely VR game out there, but there are plenty of games already out on PC that can be played. Some of the need a little finagling, but they are playable and enjoyable.
is this going like the E3 announcement of the price point for the x1 and ps4?
will PSVR be cheaper and thus steal the market?
