I've been one of the lucky few to try one on at a Comic Con - it was the Oculus Rift, actually. It sure is a heady experience, but it's impossible to really sell it just by talking about it. It's like if 3D movies were only available via select demos instead of theater chains.

It's just unmarketable for now until they can mass distribute them, and that'll rely on extraordinary sales, which in turn will only happen if people love them. It's a circular cycle that'll just torment us until we fast forward to Star Trek's holodeck, I suppose.
