BlackBerry has come under the hammer for some time now, for its inability to launch a new all-touch flagship smartphone.
"The BlackBerry Venice caused quite a bit of a stir in the Android community as it would be the first phone from the struggling Canadian company to sport a full Android OS. Android has not been an integral part of BlackBerry until now, but the company is reviewing their strategies with John Chen leading the talks, because their smartphone division is dwindling. "
"The BlackBerry Venice is the most anticipated device from the Canadian company this year, as it will supposedly be the company’s first Android smartphone and one to sport a unique feature: a sliding keyboard."
I think the slider will be launched as the last BlackBerry phone and it will definitely run on Android, but unless it's stock with extra BB apps that people love, BlackBerry might be heading towards spinning their smartphone business off and sticking to enterprise software solutions.
does it come with a free toothpick to type?
BB always has the crappy keyboards with crazy small buttons.
my HTC desire Z has a better keyboard than any BB and that was in 2011.
Yes, finally a smartphone that isn't just a flimsy aluminum trust fund status symbol.
BlackBerry's Venice slider smartphone has been caught in the wild, with the handset proudly flaunting its Android software.
I can't even imagine that anyone actually cares about this device. BB should just come to grips with the realities of the industry they pioneered. They're outdated and very few people want to use them any more. Sell off your technologies and move on.
I like this, the industry needs some shakeup.. If Samsung doesn't have the balls to do something different than mass producing the same phones with different labels, the someone has got to do it eventually.
