VRFocus: In early September 2014 Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) revealed that a new demo experience for its Project Morpheus virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) for PlayStation 4 named Summer Lesson. Announced at the company’s pre-Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2014 press conference, the demo was developed by Katsuhiro Harada of Tekken fame and was set in the dorm room of a young Japanese school girl, whom players could interact with. The demo was originally meant to be on display at TGS itself this week from 18th – 21st September, but SCE has recently confirmed that will no longer be the case.
VRFocus delivers the latest entry in its 'VR vs.' series, this week looking at the rebranding of Project Morpheus to PlayStation VR.
Yes, we got attached to the name Morpheus. It was a phenomenally better name than what they finalized. Oh well... It's sometimes the name that sells a product better than anything else. I just hope they didn't screw the pooch with this simplistic name change.

As the appeal of virtual reality (VR) grows, slowly reaching a wider audience before any of the official head-mounted displays (HMDs) have actually launched, a community of VR enthusiasts want to learn and teach what the technology has to offer. So Crossover Labs has partnered up with Popathon to create Unfold, a introduction to creating VR environments using tech that people already own.
It's understandable as everyone and their cats would flock to the demo just to try and see if there's some pantsu flash 😉✨. Time for me to cancel that trip to TGS 💔😫💦
