I’ve already written about the subtle but important upgrade that Samsung made to its Note series with the addition of a metal frame to the new Note 4 and Note Edge devices. But preceding them on the announcement calendar was the similarly metal-rimmed Galaxy Alpha, which until today looked like a promising alternative to the Galaxy S5. Now that I’ve held it in my hands, I can say it’s so much more than that.
"Looking back on the year that was, 2014 was probably one of the most competitive years for smartphone manufacturers in a good while. It’s not just Apple products on the radar of the trendy, and that’s also a good thing.
As a result, we’ll give you our top phones of the year, the real stand out performers, sellers and jet setters, that have undoubtedly been the most important and exciting releases of the year."
I think Xiaomi's phones could've made the list given their overall success in China.
The Galaxy Alpha, Samsung’s first attempt of creating a metal phone to suit the new trend for premium design, is going to be discontinued in favor of the new line inspired by the expensive mid-ranger.
I like where Samsung is heading. Metal uni body and at least a gig of ram. It seems to me like the phones are build more quality overall even those charger port's I think are more rigid
A look at which is the best Android smartphone under 5 inches, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha or the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact
It reminds me of the s2, it looks awesome!!
Samsung's most beautiful phone ever? Well going by the looks of their Galaxy S series, that's really not saying much. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come from them, now if only they sorted out the bloatware problem.
Sorry but they can change it as much as they like, unless they change their UI it's not gonna get anywhere! I've gone from S2,s3,s4,Note4. I think it's time I've tried Sony!Z4 when it comes out next year!
Best Samsung ever* Other manufactures have a better sense of ascetic. Samsung also gives in on build materials. I DON'T WANT SHINNY PLASTIC...lol
Yay a Samsung phone that isnt the size of a tablet. It's about time. Maybe I'll even consider it this time.
