Old news but the facts are people do not hallucinate when smoking marijuana

monkeyfox3847d ago

No, but it IS technically a hallucinogen. Being hallucinogenic just means it impacts your perception, emotional responses etc which cannabis does... very nicely i might add.

This makes all those claims about hemp oil curing cancer seem not-so ridiculous now...

hay3846d ago

It was never ridiculous. It've been used for ages, along with other specifics. It's just the ugly hybrid of capitalism and medicine that needs to make more money, and won't be able to do so with natural resources.

zeroskie3846d ago

@hay please elaborate on ugly hybrid of capitalism and medicine. I can almost taste the ignorance from here.

Nocando3846d ago

You can if you eat enough of it.

TheOneEyedHound3847d ago

Fucking dumb americans banning this drug. It's a fuckibg med!!! Too many people hace suffer and died(Cartel) because some dumbass race.

I bet the people responsible never tried it, they just saw it as a new cocane and some BS hallucination BS.

Soupaman663846d ago

its not just america that banned it you know. they do realize it a medicine and is slightly making it legal in certain states. they kept a control on it because its addicting and doing to much of a "medicine" can still be a bad thing.

dilawer3846d ago

You're absolutely right. Doing much of anything is harmful. Eating TOO MUCH food can cause problems too.

PS. How's this related to tech? It's cancer and MArijuana. It's not tech.

Speed-Racer3846d ago

@Dilawer - We are pushing science articles as of late as part of the transition to the new update which is supposed to come later this year.

dilawer3846d ago

@Racer-X Cool! didn't know that. I'm waiting for the transition. :D

hay3846d ago (Edited 3846d ago )

@Soupaman66: Well, actually USA made an international demand in the fourties to ban hemp(too cheap, durable, common, prohibition would increase hemp prices throughout few decades), and whichever country didn't heed, "wasn't a good friend of them" anymore.
Topic is way too deep for a this kind of conversation.

Essentially one absorbs "food" molecules getting this information inside own system, vitamins and other needed substances are used in various functions, some are harmful.
Distilled water removes minerals from the body only because it's more or less pure H2O. It doesn't give any minerals, but body removes them altogether and mineral balance is negative.
Too much of anything will create disbalance and might force body to work a bit differently than optimal.
You are what you ingest, do or think. Literally.

The problem is that its a drug and like humans do, they have abused the drug by using it to get high, the reason why it is banned.

NarooN3846d ago

Humans abuse alcohol, yet it's not banned, and alcohol is much more dangerous than marijuana.

Minute Man 7213846d ago

If people were dying left and right from smoking the herbs I could understand it having the ban, but it has never killed anyone

MonChiChi3846d ago

Harry Anslinger, enough said.

Bimkoblerutso3846d ago (Edited 3846d ago )

In fact, alcohol has been proven to be more addicting, has a more dangerous high, and has the potential to lead to more dangerous complications than marijuana. Yet alcohol has become a staple of almost every known culture in the world and marijuana is...just for those good-for-nothing potheads.

Obviously there are going to be potheads out there that would be pathetic losers even if they WEREN'T abusing the drug, but marijuana should have nowhere NEAR the stigma it does in society.

AceofStaves3846d ago

Alcohol and tobacco aren't banned, and those two substances have contributed to a lot more death, injury, and 'social ills' than marijuana.

I think it comes down to money. It's something people can grow themselves and don't need to purchase from specialty retailers.

KwietStorm_BLM3846d ago

You think that's why it's illegal? lol no, seriously?

webeblazing3846d ago

im pretty sure hes right and its illegal in a lot of countries because of the U.S.

cleft53846d ago

As far as Cartels are concerned, if they weren't illegally selling Marijuana and exploiting people that way, they would still be trafficking people, particularly young minors.

These Cartel exist because the government is too corrupt to effectively stand up to these organizations and deal with them. Trying to put the blame on the US for making certain drugs illegal is pointless and short sighted. Cartels are only going to be dealt with when countries heavily affected by them is able to get a strong leader that rallies the people and military together and get rid of them once and for all. Blaming America for Cartels existing is like me blaming you for companies like FoxConn existing because you want deals on consumer products or own some sort of Smartphone.

webeblazing3846d ago

Wait who blame u.s. that cartels exist. U.S. is the reason their pockets r fat and the reason a lot of countries didn't legalize it

adorie3846d ago

We didn't ban jack. It's the industrialists from the past that did that, because MJ is easier to grow than a tree made of paper, since big industry can access and process trees into paper, usually on land owned by Company A or B. It was out of fear. I saw we need a HEMP industry!

It was set up to be like this a long time ago and the people's curiosity about the plant is pretty big right now, thanks in part to the internet.

What the hell is wrong with some people? I'm getting sick of people getting arrested for smoking/having it while people get away with rape & beating the hell out people. Another stupid law child abuse carries lower charges than animal abuse.
