SFGate- Facebook Inc. said Thursday Oct. 10, 2013, that it is removing a setting that controls whether users could be found when people type their name into the website's search bar.
People who value privacy left Facebook long ago...
People who value privacy, never joined Facebook to begin with.
This is why I don't post to Facebook anymore.
So, all my privacy setting are of no use anymore? Dx
Took them long enough.
And it begins...... Just waiting for the mandatory chips now (hand or forhead).
Honestly thinking about leaving now. Normally I don't care about policy changes, but this was a good roadblock. I have psychotic family members that I don't need watching my every move, and a lot of them were too stupid to figure out how to get around me being hidden. This just opens the door for them. I see absolutely no purpose to it at all. So basically at this point I told FB to hide everything, and absolutely none of it is hidden. I have people around me that are not my friends, not much of mutual friends, and they still see random updates from me because FB is advertising them to add me. Yet unless I make literally every single person a close friend, I won't see updates from them until two days later and 50 advertisement posts down the page.
