Hynix says fire did not cripple China chip-making plant

Reuters: SK Hynix Inc 000600.KS expects to resume production of memory chips at its Wuxi, China, plant shortly, the South Korean chipmaker said on Wednesday, adding that a fire at the facility caused one minor injury but did not cripple critical equipment.

Digitimes: The supply of commodity DRAM for PCs is expected to remain tight through the entire year of 2014, despite reports indicating that SK Hynix has resumed wafer start production at its fire-damaged fab in China, according to industry sources.
