TheVerge: Microsoft is preparing to revive the traditional Start button it killed with Windows 8. Sources familiar with Microsoft's plans have revealed to The Verge that Windows 8.1 will include the return of the Start button.
And, for once, some of what it can do looks genuinely useful.
The blog post reads, “We’re introducing a new WhatsApp app for Windows that loads faster and is built with an interface similar to the app's mobile version.”
Since the middle of February, customers of AMD graphics cards have been reporting situations in which Windows installations were entirely bricked after installing new drivers.
A welcome news from Microsoft
Great! I said they made a mistake forcing Metro on users back last year. It's such a radical departure from the Windows desktop that users need time to get used to it, dabble when they want to not have it forced upon them. Once developers start making more Metro enabled apps so users don't have to keep dropping to classic desktop Metro will start to take off. Giving users the choice and not dictating to them is the right way to go.
