The electric car with a 500-mile range could finally match petrol power for distance

I love that the technology is getting so much better because I hate the fact that my wife's little Honda Civic costs $60 to fill from empty but the much higher cost of the electric/hybrid vehicles makes it seem like a moot point for at least the first ...4-5 years?
