Two new mysterious giant holes found in Siberia, scientists puzzled

Gizmodo

Scientists have found two new mysterious giant holes in Siberia, like the one that appeared in Siberia two weeks ago. The new craters are smaller than the first but they share a similar structure. Scientists are still puzzled by the origin of these formations. Here are all the details:

Holes appearing? Is it Earth or Krypton?

The Silver Surfer is at it again !!

SilentNegotiator3931d ago (Edited 3931d ago )

If we throw enough unsold copies of Rise of the Silver Surfer into his mouth, maybe he'll grow full before biting into earth.

We got plenty of that ammo

M-M3931d ago

Either a troll to go down in history, or a giant creature underground. Heck, maybe both.

This is where the last major population of the mammoths died out "or did they", two meteor impacts within 100 years, with the first one called the Tunguska event, having an explosive force 1,000 times greater than that of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima!

This is also where the Dyatlov Pass Indicent happened, a huge mystery never solved! You'll also find mysterious cauldrons in Siberia´s Valley of Death, Scientist are still trying to find out what they are! Siberia is also where we trace the origins of American Indians!

Event_Horizon3931d ago

I knew about the tunguska event but had no idea there were more of these weird incidents that happened in the Siberian region. Thanks a lot man.

johny53931d ago

That's not all! A French explorer claimed to have seen mammoth's in 1920 Siberia.

Here's his account: It was a huge elephant with big white tusks that were very curved. Its hair was a dark chestnut color as far as I could see. It had fairly long hair on the hindquarters, but it seemed shorter in the front. I must say, I had no idea there were such big elephants! A second beast was around . . . it seemed to be at least as big as the first

UnwanteDreams3931d ago (Edited 3931d ago )

Actually something exploded over Tunguska. Can not be proven it was meteor.

Dasteru3931d ago

Just read the wiki on the Dyatlov Pass incident. Sounds to me like they were most likely killed by a mid air explosion of one of the R-7 test rockets the military was testing at the time. A mid air explosion within a couple hundred feet of them would explain the injuries, the radiation found on their clothing and the scrap metal found in the area near them.

Mother Earth is trying to swallow Russia.

Bathyj3931d ago

In Russia, Russia swallows..ah forget it.

SilentNegotiator3931d ago (Edited 3931d ago )

In neo-Soviet Russia, Russia swallows small neighboring countries to try to reclaim glory that they never had.

Predator?

AVP.

IMO an object hit the place on fire and burned through the earth, creating the cone shape as it cooled down.

zerocrossing3931d ago

Sorry but that's impossible. Scientists have already ruled out any object colliding into the ground, by stating there's no indication of burnt land or material in the area.

The only thing anybody seems to be agreeing on atm, is that whatever it was came up from below ground.

konnerbllb3931d ago

It might not be possible but his reference is spot on. There was no burn damage in the movie and the end result looked a lot like what is actually there.

Dasteru3931d ago (Edited 3931d ago )

Anything with enough mass and velocity to make a hole like that would have nuked everything within 20-30 miles of the area. A celestial body cannot make a perfectly circlular hole like that and leave the surrounding area untouched. As Zero said, whatever this was had to have come up from below ground, not an impact from above. Soil tests from the bottom of the hole would quickly tell them if it was seismic explosion or not but it is highly unlikely given the perfectly circular nature of the hole. Possibly a large steam vent that collapsed back in on itself at the base.

Predator's trying to get to the heart of Mother Russia, but instead they find a clone army of Putin's wearing speedo's getting ready to invade Ukraine....

Woah - This one popped huge. I just thought it was an interesting oddity. Nice to see some fun comments being made.

It really is an incredibly strange phenomenon.

1nsomniac3931d ago (Edited 3931d ago )

The problem with this one is the first assumption would be a meteor but then that's easily disproved because there is no debris or surrounding meteor crater.

Second problem is each new report that comes out states different diameters as the ones listed in this article are tiny compared to how big they were listed in other media & newspapers when it first kicked off.

Third problem is the "official response" so far is that Serbia has made the big time recently in the oil reserves premiership so-to-speak & they have many underground oil extraction bases all over & in that particular area. You can see from Google earth some of the signs of this & working in the oil industry I know they have suddenly brought out a lot of huge contracts. However the holes show signs of being blown inwards not outwards & some of the best scientists from all over the world have all gone for prolonged inspection of the holes. In the oil industry these explosions are known about & happen due to mixing differing gases from the earth's core reacting with gases it usually wouldn't be in contact with - absolutely no need for further scientists to get involved.

No matter which way you look at it, that alone is pretty dodgy!!

To me it would seem that possibly it could be a sink hole due to the extraction of so much earth material however the need for all those scientists & the perfect diameter of the holes pretty much voids this but anything can happen so it's possible but extremely unlikely. Or something has hit although it was a controlled hit new bunker busting weapon tech (USA have openly been working/specialising in this over the last decade)and yes even a UFO of some kind (military or otherwise) with some kind of repulsion tech that could burn through the earth that deep on contact as defence or to destroy the craft itself, again USA prodomenantly are working on this after their drones keep getting retrieved in the middle east after crashing or being shot down.

The simple fact so many top scientists are there indicates that it's something they haven't seen before & need to research but for a country to allow other countries to openly get involved & all countries working together. That's the most worrying thing of all!

zaz123931d ago (Edited 3931d ago )

That seems like limestone's sinkholes. It's like what we have in the US.

Edit:

Yeah,I understand from this link that the geology of that area is mostly Limestone.

When talking about EVs, kWh and kW are often mentioned without context, but neither is as complicated as you might think.

What If The Earth Was Flat?

Science is mysterious. People ask questions and with the tools at their disposal, scientists address a hypothesis. Geodesy is the Earth science of accurately measuring and understanding the Earth’s geometric shape, orientation in space and gravitational field. Years of research in the field of geodesy has told us that a sphere is a close approximation of …

These Flat Earth believers' are really funny sickos.

Cobra9512247d ago

As a group, they're the perfect illustration of an echo chamber. Think of them as a control group, where the concepts espoused are clearly wrong, but they believe they're getting valid science (like drug control groups believe they are getting meds instead of placebos). Good studies of people's impressionability as members of a greater whole can be accomplished here.

blacktiger2246d ago (Edited 2246d ago )

It's funny how you judge others, regardless where's the proof of them being sickos?

kneon2246d ago

Anyone who truly thinks the earth is flat is mentally deficient.

2019: we're trying to convince people the world is round.

BioDead2245d ago

If earth is flat then most of the physics shouldn't work as they are working now. I saw a documentary on Netflix of this believe and I didn't get a single valid or scientific explanation from the believers how the flat earth works, why other planets are globes and earth is just flat, how the physics works with it, and so on. Seemingly flat earth is now in fashion, but it'll soon wears out. Hopefully.

Just imagine the number of people who would have to be in on the round "hoax" over the centuries for it to succeed. A few examples: Anyone who flies an airplane, or in one, around the world. Most international ship captains and crews. Meteorologists. Astronomers. Anyone professionally involved with satellites.

the world is flat, belive what you want, nasa the biggest hoaxers to the human race, and its funny watching them mug the human race off, enyoy the space travel... LUL
