A mega-structure in space built by aliens – Really?

DigitFreak: KIC 8462852 is star situated approximately at a distance of 1,400 light years from earth and is observed being orbited by a “weird” object. The speculations are rife about a mega-structure built by an advanced alien civilisation. But is it the truth?

I'm putting my money on a brown dwarf star.

Or maybe a big planet, revolving in a short circular orbit around this bright star.

Some are saying the unusual activity around KIC is because of a star that passed to close to the outer portion of the solar system and stirred up the cometary debris.
First off where is that star that stirred up the cometary debris? It should be relatively easy to find if it is in fact a rogue star.

Secondly with outer cometary debris being stirred up isn't that a good chance that solar system might contain a habitable planet or two? Earth is surrounded by the Oort Cloud that has thousands of chunks frozen ice water and cometary capable objects. Perhaps what we are seeing is what it would look like from the outside in looking at a solar system similar to our own.

Still....where is that rogue star?

If by some way it deduces that there is a non-natural structure there (even if they say it is, it doesn't necessarily make it true) then it will be the first sign of intelligent life existing outside of our planet.

Also, if they had this ability to create something like this in terms of our time, 1500 years ago, wouldn't they have leaped forward in the growth of tech since then to have possibly populated a far area surrounding their own star?

For building a Dyson sphere in my mind would require far more tech than the ability to travel throughout a large vast region outside of a said lifeforms solar system. But I cannot find out how far away KIC 8462852 is from it's nearest neighboring stars. Any help would be appreciated.
