Not rocket science to what they did. They essentially made digital copies of the phone and then tried every combo possible till it unlocked. They now have to decrypt the data.
This is a good thing... they are showing a sign of focus and went with Bridge that works better. All the major apps are on both Android and iOS anyways.

The rumor was stopping Surface, not Surface Pro.... which they could very well do. The RT OS isn't the best option out there. Especially since there are so many cheap Windows tablets coming out that run the full OS.
Sony is in horrible shape. And very much in trouble. Stock is valued as "junk". They are no longer on most stock indexes in Japan. Market cap of $18 billion. The only thing keeping their doors open is their insurance division. Which is pretty said for a electronics company.
They could very easily go bankrupt. Bankruptcy is a real part of most companies reorganizing.
