I understand what you are saying, but can't agree. Comparing the audio jack to floppy disk, for example, doesn't hold up. Floppy were flawed in that they were easily damaged, subject to data loss and couldn't hold much data. In what way are the proposed 'successors' to 3.5 audio jacks an improvement?
How exactly do you improve on a universally accepted format that works perfectly as is?
Odd how MS are spending a fortune on this while neglecting VR on the Xbox.
It isn't a huge surprise, though, considering HTC Vive and Rift were being very unassuming and quiet during E3. But, good on Sony for banging the VR drum.
My heart bleeds for them. Maybe if the ad industry had regulated itself this all wouldn't be necessary.
