Not even close. This article is not written well.

I have the 3 actual consoles, love them all. But in all cases while the portability option is fun, every multiplatform games, the switch versions are not on par with Ps4 and Xbox One versions. It also lacks in sports and driving games. Their excusives are awesome, but ps4 has been rocking in that department too. It also lacks big multiplatform games (Red Dead Redemption 2, Gta V, Dark Souls 3, Assassin Creed Origins and Odyssey, FFXV, Fallout 4, CoD, Battlefield, Borderlands 3, MMOs, etc.). It also lacks in hardware department. I'm not judging console power, but the reliability of their Joy Cons..... Even if it was more reliable, even the pro controller is not as good as ps4's or Xbox one's.
Just with Nintendo I still think SuperNintendo is better. It was top of its class.

switch is a good handheld but is overpriced by next year ps4 and xbox users would have moved on whilst nintendo stuck in past. it has its audience but isnt for me its more for children. the library isnt a fresh dynamic library they are full of rehashes and ports of games some o them i used to play back on my ps3

Love the switch but no. First thing comes to mind is it has less online features than 3ds did somehow and its incredibly underpowered. Yea it "runs" 3rd party triple a games but it's not the first place I'd choose to play those games.

Having a Switch myself, I guess I'm struggling to see what all the fuss is about. Most of the games coming to it I have a problem buying because I own them on other platforms. I know the "it's portable" argument is a popular one, but the battery life SUCKS at best. With the exception of a couple exclusives, it's library is scarce. To be fair, I've never been one that's liked Mario, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, or the like, these games come off as VERY childish with horrible story lines.

Metroid is what I purchase any Nintendo console for, with great respect to previous Zeldas(not this current one, it's more like a dumbed down Witcher for kids). Once they have a lineup that's not rereleases I can see this opinion being credible to a small portion of this generation.

Its sales are high, but volume doesn't often translate into quality. Porsche, Ferrari, Bugatti, etc never sell in high numbers but there is no match for their quality. High sales tend to generally show that the product is simple enough that a child can operate it. I'm more of a quality over quantity type of guy. I know this is not a popular stance, but I am not willing to ignore the obvious flaws and plagiarisms that are present in the Switch. It's an okay system, but the Gamecube was the last great system from Nintendo followed by 3DS, to me.🤷🏾‍♂️

I disagree. I don’t even classify the switch as a console. It’s a handheld that you can hook to the tv with very poor results. The switch gets a pass when no other system would. In the age of 4k ray tracing and hdr the switch can’t even do 720p.

If we ignored all software, I maybe would agree. But IMO all generations of Playstation exclusives individually trumps Switch's game library. Also the joy con's are kinda cheapish quality, aiming the bow precisely and quickly in BotW is impossible.

not the greatest of all-time by a long shot. nintendo could release a dirty rag and fanboys would think it was the greatest console ever. not saying the switch isn’t good, but nintendo has been relying on gimmicks since the original wii. they stopped competing with ms and sony because they don’t want to actually invest the money in a powerful console and they know they basically get a free pass with anything they make. if they put in the r&d for something that could compete with the ps5 and series x, THAT would be a legendary console.

i see a lot of people saying how great the switch is because it’s portable, but i’ve never once seen anyone playing it in public before; in canada or japan. unless you value playing it THAT much while you’re taking a shit, then i don’t see what the big deal is. i think it’s the novelty of being able to play “console” games on a handheld and not so much actually being that great. i’m 99.9% sure that if botw came on a pure home console(a more powerful nintendo console), it would have been that much better. but hey, if you’re one of those people that prefers playing the handheld version, good for you.

Yup. The online services and multiplayer are best, the controllers are super comfortable, the graphics and frame rates are mind blowing, storage is easy and plentiful, moving data around is cake and it gets all the huge AAA games and gets them first with the best graphics and performance.

Gonna call BS on this one. Very cool system with some great games, but it's nowhere close to as innovative and the Dreamcast or PSP which did nearly the same thing 10 years ago. Plus it's at least 50% ports on this thing.

my rog phone 2 is a better console because with the kunai gamepad and moonlight streaming i can have pc games with 1080p120hz gaming on the go, even on 4g network

It is not the greatest of all-time. The analog sticks wear out in no time at all... Would that happen with the "Greatest console of all-time?". The online is pretty rough, using an app on your phone to voice chat with your friends is pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

I like my switch, it's amazing to play the cool games it has while I'm traveling or at work, but greatest of all-time? Come on man.

Most of the games are watered down welfare full priced ports of games the rest of the world played years ago, and that allows it to beat out the Ps2 which is the greatest selling console of all time??
