My hype for PS5 has nothing to do with going toe to toe with gaming PCs. My gaming PC has that covered. However, adding more competent hardware to consoles is never a bad thing. Seeing what they've accomplished with a weak CPU, along with some great looking games yet to release, I'm ready for updated hardware asap.

I already bought into the ps5 with the success of ps1,2,3, and 4.

I don't give two shits about Scarlett. PS4 BC ALONE makes the PS5 a Day 1 buy for me. I already know amazing exclusives will come after.

We all trust playstation as they've done it every gen since ps1.
We playstation owners know what we get from our purchase and that's top tier exclusives from start to finish, variety, good build quality, safe, fun and friendly online community, awesome Indies and 3rd party support, take risks, innovate VR etc.

The same cannot be said for xbox, abandoned original xbox after 360 launch, need to buy extra accessories ie wireless adapter, HD player, batteries for a controller (like wtf) abandoned 360 games for the last 3 years AAA wise and say no more about how this gen has turned out for them.

The only console nobody is hyped about is xbox, playstation and nintendo have 100% trust from there consumers.

PS5 day one!

I'm all in with Gamepass Ultimate for the next 3 years for $1 after conversion. I'll take a Scarlet, my 4K tv, and the next great Xbox exclusives. I think they've learned their lesson

I will wait 2 years in. On average how it takes to get some true next-gen games and exclusives. Until this mainly cross-gen.

Has the hype even started? Even with what was revealed so far there are far too many questions to be hyped as of now. In my opinion anyway.

With that said, Sony has brought the games for 4 straight generations. They haven't let us down.

It's better than building a gaming PC at the moment that is %99.99 won't stand a chance against the ps5 and scarlett.

Always best to let others test it out before you spend your money.

I'm already holding off buying new titles like watchdogs legion because they will undoubtedly receive a next gen version

i'll buy a ps5 when i'm able or a couple years in but that's because i'm hyped for it. Sony delivers every generation. Scarlet? that crap can stay on the shelf. Msoft hasn't shown anything to me that makes me want their console and this year's E3 highlighted the fact.

It's not baseless though, just look at the facts and its easy to see why people are boarding the hype train. Navi CPUs (made even better by the fact that they will be in a closed system bespoke to taking full advantage of them), SSDs (Sony already demonstrated how much of a difference that can make), Backwards Compatibility stretching even to PSVR, and yeah count me excited

For me this is not about going toe to toe with a PC or even about being the most ultra powerful. It is about trust and I trust Sony and their first party developers.

This is not about giving lots of interviews. They have delivered since the PS1 and this Gen with their amazing games.

hype? If Sony opened up pre-ordering the PS5 right now with no other info besides price, I would already have one reserved....

I'm actually one to enjoy what I have now first and foremost and dreaming of the next gen is just something fun to do. I've never personally given much thought about how upcoming systems compare to high-end PCs, but if that floats your boat, go right ahead. When the time comes I'll certainly pre-order a PS5 since I've never been let down by a PlayStation and can gradually pay that off over time prior to its release, and then slowly migrate over to that from my PS4 as more games come out. Essentially, the same thing I did with the PS4 when it came out, I'll do with the PS5.

God willing I'll be picking up a PS5 day one.

I don’t even care what Xbox is offering at this point . Most of it will be spin and the other half will be buy this super ultimate sub package of a lifetime. Maybe toward the end of next when they are about to get out of consoles for good I’ll consider their last console if there is enough games worth buying that are exclusive but I doubt it . This entire gen they only made Ori that I really wanted (on pc tho) and I kind of wanted killer instinct and that’s it . PS5 will play my huge backlog I hope they don’t pump out too many games to start so I can catch up but I probably won’t have enough time to finish it.

I know more then enough to know I should be onboard the hype train.

I would rather wait about a year after next-gen consoles are released before getting either of them , time for games to have been released on them & time to see how many consoles are returned due to defects to see if they are worth putting money into.

i never understand these articles, your telling the wrong people... The ones who read game news daily are the early adopters that will put up with no games for months just so they get to play with the new hardware, We know the risks and we are comfortable with them.

I don't think there is a ton of hype. I feel like people just want upgraded hardware that can do 4k/60 FPS or more and all the specs so far seem to surpass that. So if that's hype I guess I already bought into it.

New consoles are not worth it for at least a year or two after launch anyway. Even more so with many games probably being cross gen.

I know both will be better than what we have now, & my digital libraries for both transition forward. I'll have both eventually.

Simply replacing the HDD with a SSD plus making games designed for SSD will make a huge difference.

There is more to just the SSD but anyone who has a SSD in their computer already has noticed the difference in loading times compared to HDD.

Ray tracing graphics, 120 fps, and backwards compatibly with PS4 games would be great. Will this mean PS4 and XB1 games can run in 120 fps as well? Ditto for those original Xbox and 360 games as well.

With those things, $500 for those consoles seems about right. $400 would be a steal and you would have to expect shortages of those new consoles for awhile.

Good hardware is overdue. The pro was meh, just a cute upgrade.
