So $60 for all those, and I can only assume they’ll be just ur basic rom ports

No thanks

PhantomS421863d ago

$60 in total. You can buy them individually. $20 for eight Castlevania games sounds great to me.

EricLane1862d ago

I would be interested in full remakes of 8 Castlevania games for $60.

darthv721862d ago

Hopefully the castlevania and contra ones include the rebirth games. Seeing as there are four spots not yet filled... I'd imagine rondo of blood, SotN, bloodlines and rebirth (for castlevania collection) and hard corps, hard corps uprising and rebirth and maybe neo or shattered soldier (for contra collection).

Funny they are including haunted castle in the first one when that would fit better in the castlevania collection. Swap that out for gradius rebirth.

AnthonyDavis1862d ago

PC free version. Not $60 for me haha

-Foxtrot1863d ago

Most likely and they have to rely on old games and collections since they’ve become such a clusterf*** latley

That’s sad and hilarious

Knushwood Butt1862d ago

Konami slumming it.

How about a true Silent Hill series remaster?

Tross1862d ago

And their collections will still inevitably be compared with Capcom’s collections, because letting Capcom win their long rivalry on the modern game front doesn’t mean the retro battle is over. As both companies have always had their fans, there will be less a comparison of IPs (because we can already do that), and more a comparison of things like emulation quality, quantity of games included, emulation options, extra content such as museum stuff, etc.

$2.50 a game isn't bad for legit retail releases. Better than the old VC pricing, and on par with most classic collections from last gen in particular. Curious what the mystery games are in the Castlvania and Contra collections.

I'd pay $20 to have those Contra games on Switch especially, even though the physical versions are sitting on my shelves.

rainslacker1862d ago

It's a pretty good selection of games, although the arcade collection is a bit light in comparison to other collections from other companies. I have about half of them from the PS3 days when they had the PS1 classics available. Might pick up the contra collection because I don't have any ports of those, and some aren't available in US ports.

Nitrowolf21862d ago

It’s jot that it’s a bad collection at all, cause Contra and castle are some of my favorite series

It’s more so, Konami just doing the bare minimum and just throwing them on a disc

Last I remember you had to quit the application if u wanted to switch games from the recent castle ports

rainslacker1862d ago

I would have to agree with you. I may get these games when they go on sale. I'm in no hurry to really play them again, although it has been a long while since i played any Contra game. Konami isn't really my favorite publisher anymore, and they do have a habit of doing the bare minimum as often as possible.

Relying on classic collections and soccer games is pretty much all Konami was doing these days. Gaming wise.

Omar3li1862d ago

it's something capcom did it and saw the support and now we got new games

Bleucrunch1862d ago

You think that Konami doing this will help them out? NO WAY Jose!!! Konami is NOT Capcom.

Omar3li1862d ago

@Bleucrunch Capcom in 2015 released a bare bone SFV and last gen was pretty much trash ,and said that Mega Man collections sales actually helped Mega Man 11 to exist , Konami maybe testing the water now

XxINFERNUSxX1863d ago

No point when you can get them all for free from torrent sites. Emulation FTW

CorndogBurglar1862d ago

So I take it you don't buy any video games at all since they can all be found on torrent sites eventually?

BlaqMagiq11863d ago

No physical release means automatic wait for sale. Literally no reason not to them.

Best Buy Opens Preorders for Limited Run Switch Games: TMNT, Double Dragon, and More

"Digital games are more convenient than physical games, and usually cheaper too. Still, there's something about collecting physical games that appeals to many gamers. Preordering limited physical editions directly from boutique labels is always an option, but sometimes retailers offer the same editions for a better price. That's certainly the case with Best Buy, which currently has 14 Nintendo Switch titles from Limited Run up for preorder, including TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, Double Dragon Neon, and several more co-op hits," says Co-Optimus.

The Ultimate Collection is beautiful

addictedtochaos1091d ago

Ultimate Edition looks great, but the price is a little steep. I’ll stick with the Bloodlines Edition.

phantomexe1090d ago

Hard copy all the way. Picking up the classic for switch. Id get the ps4 version but that battery cant play hard copys 20 years from now has spoiled the waters for me with sony.
