What's Hawt: Amidst growing concerns over employers demanding Facebook credentials at interviews, the US House of Representatives have voted against a proposed amendment to protect employees from having to give up such credentials.
Messenger will return the Facebook mobile app thanks to Meta.
Now you can get happy birthday messages on your actual birthday instead of some random day.
Facebook has to implement new rules for Facebook Live because people are literally the worst. Now, if you break the rules you'll receive a ban.
These guys live with their heads up their behinds. First it was SOPA, now this crap?
That's just stupid.
More importantly, they have to cater to Union Superpowers and corporations. Including teachers unions (you've seen all of the stories about schools taking over Facebook accounts). You make that precedent, and schools, fat cats, and unions lose the power to steal your privacy....heavens forbid! You might say something mean about your employer, union, or hall monitor (as was an actual "incident")!
Lack of law or not; don't give up your privacy. Social media is equivalent to things you say in private to just friends. I'll quit my job before I EVER let my employer, union, etc force themselves on my social media accounts.
If a potential employer's perceived right to dig in to your personal life is supported by institution, it's not a stretch to see the US gov't mandating that Facebook release said information to various organizations. I can't fathom how easily Americans are willing to give up their right to privacy. I'm not a criminal and I'm not a tin-foil head, but I don't need people sticking their noses where they don't belong, and I sure as hell don't need Facebook/Google/etc. to become a shadowy census used by gov't organizations.
The US government does this with everyone who wants to enter the US so I could give 2 f***s what they allow in the US. If you say something derogatory about the US you will more than likely be put on a "list" and not be allowed to enter teh country.
