SF Weekly: One of the many great things about smartphones is that they can be helpful in catching dumb criminals. Police say they used GPS technology to track down a teenage boy who was busted with a stolen phone he allegedly took from a woman late last night.
Introduced in iOS 17.1 and watchOS 10.1, NameDrop is a novel feature that facilitates the sharing of contact information between nearby iPhones and Apple Watches by holding them together.
WhatsApp introduces a breakthrough feature enabling iPhone users to share photos and videos in their original quality on the messaging platform.
According to a recent report, the iPhone 16 series might come with an additional hardware button.
I don't really see how this made the news, because it's not really a new feature per se. Robbers get tracked down all the time with the GPS/Stupidity combination. Where I worked, we issued a few hundred laptops to students and one of them went missing and we were able to get the police to pin point exactly where it was when the person when online...saw an arrest 2 weeks later.
