Accused Robber Tracked Down by GPS on Stolen iPhone

SF Weekly: One of the many great things about smartphones is that they can be helpful in catching dumb criminals. Police say they used GPS technology to track down a teenage boy who was busted with a stolen phone he allegedly took from a woman late last night.

I don't really see how this made the news, because it's not really a new feature per se. Robbers get tracked down all the time with the GPS/Stupidity combination. Where I worked, we issued a few hundred laptops to students and one of them went missing and we were able to get the police to pin point exactly where it was when the person when online...saw an arrest 2 weeks later.
