iRobot Receives $21 Million from U.S. Navy to Dispose of IEDs

Gadgehit writes: "iRobot Corporation, a leader in delivering robotic technology-based solutions, has received a $21 million order from the United States Navy for 100 bomb disposal robots. The Man Transportable Robotic System (MTRS) MK 1 MOD 1 robot has been proven to work in combat, and is able to remotely perform disposal of improvised explosive devices (IEDs)."

Those robot clearly don't represent the ones the military will be getting for $21 Million...that's chump change when you're shopping for a REAL robot like the one in the pic.
