What if anom sell your info, would that be different because you knew they floged it instead of you agree to T&Cs and then putting the info on there yourself?

To be honest facebook probably don't sell the info they would be selling stats which is completely different, that's more like a country doing a census and they give the info away for a cost then give it away for free.

Also who said they can take my info from facebook without asking me, you could sue this group for breaking privacy laws.

Weather Facebook or Anon have or sell my info, their is nothing i really do to prevent that now is there. but if one of the two that have my info are willing to go to great lengths to get at one another, than so be it. but if my return on my info is watching them go at then get it on.

Keep in mind, they hacked the PUBLIC sites, not actually retrieving legitimate information that would be behind much more security. So it isn't as a great of a feat as the hype would lead to believe. The problem is when news sites/stations say the FBI, Pentagon, etc has been "hacked", it's not entirely a true statement. Where there have been more issues, though, is smaller organization that have been easily hacked and have had information leaked.

But yeah, ironically Anon is really just making companies beef up their security now that this is occurring, and it could lead to to tighter restrictions.

Okay, I can understand Anon backing certain causes, but sometimes it gets a bit too corny. The 5th of November? Do people really have nothing better to do? Maybe they should do something more symbolic with a country like Syria (I know they recently hacked a site, but given the way things are going there, it could get worse), which I could respect far more. I think something like that would be far more symbolic to their cause then trying to hack a social network.

Nerd rage bemuses me sometimes (and I don't even like Facebook that much), and I say that as a Nerd as well.

I doubt it. Im not a facebook user so I dont care about it but I do care about internet security in general. If Anon keep hacking the shit out of everything security restrictions, etc will eventually be put into place. The internet is one of the last 'free' places we have. Lets keep it that way!

From what I understand, Lulzsec is an offshoot of Anon, or at least they admitted to have a connection or Anon's "blessing". Being part of Anon can pretty much be by association, meaning almost anyone can be part of it in theory. It's pretty much relatively controlled anarchy.

What makes this even more confusing (not to the fault of Business Insider), is that Anon in more recent news says that they are officially saying they aren't going after Facebook on November 5th, countering the declaration that they were as a whole. But given the way Anon runs, I'm sure there are a sub group of people who will try to attempt to.
