PlayStation LifeStyle writes: After talking to Gameloft’s Digital Marketing and Community Manager, Callum Rowley on the day of the Xperia PLAY’s European launch, we caught up with the publisher’s Managing Director, Julian Stocker to find out not only how successful the company has been with the platform, but about the importance of developing for “the next big thing”, and why traditional publishers have been so slow to adapt to digital distribution.
Droid life : Last week, Gameloft released a trailer for Dungeon Hunter 4, their newest flagship dungeon crawler. With a closing sequence of “coming soon” we had no idea when to expect the release, but here we are and it is now available on Google Play. Graphically the game looks really nice, then when you mix in monsters and bossy weapons, it’s a surefire hit.
Engadget - Okay, so maybe physical keyboards were a bigger deal back in 2010 when this thing was filed, or maybe -- just maybe -- we'll one day see an Xperia Play smartphone with both a gamepad and a full QWERTY counterpart. A patent for such a contraption was just granted to Sony by the USPTO, which stakes its claim for a device with two sliding mechanisms in addition to the display.
