Pocket-Lint: The Apple MacBook Air 11-inch pushes into a new space for Apple, slotting between the existing (and refreshed) Air 13-inch, and above the iPad. It means Apple now has a compact and extremely portable format of computer: Apple had always said they wouldn’t make a netbook and this new Air rivals the 11.6-inch format in the PC world, so it is about as "netbook" as we can expect Apple to get.
ObstructedViews.net - If you have ever read any of my posts before you can tell I'm a fan of two things tech-wise: Samsung and Apple products. I have made posts about the superiority of the Apple OS X Mavericks over Microsoft's Windows 8 operating systems. I have claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is the superphone of 2013! BGR: Microsoft (MSFT) announced pricing for its upcoming Surface Pro tablet last week and tech bloggers’ heads immediately exploded. The Surface Pro — Microsoft’s first own-brand Windows 8 offering — will start at $899 for a unit with 64GB of internal storage. That price includes a stylus, an accessory that will be appreciated by some potential users but certainly not all, but it does not include a Touch Cover or a Type Cover keyboard. Microsoft’s unique keyboard cover accessories are one of a few key differentiating factors that help set Surface tablets apart, so many viewed this omission as yet another strike against the Surface Pro.
Pocket-Lint: To some extent, Apple has made a rod for its own back. The MacBook Air reached such impressive heights last year, with just about the best computer hardware on the market, and with more than enough features to keep even demanding users happy. This year then, it's got to fight to make its new generation of machines better. A tough task when there was nothing wrong with the last lot.
